A lot of people have contacted me in the past few months/weeks asking about Valensia's new projects, latest news and the status of the official website. I'm sorry to say that, as far as I know, there is no news. I have tried to contact Valensia several times in the last few months, but I was unsuccesfull. I received the most recent reply in September 2007, in which he wrote that he was going to work on a new cd and he sent me the pictures I posted on this forum. Since then, I haven't received any replies, even though I sent cc's of the emails to all the email adresses I have "collected" in the past few years. www.valensia.com going blank is just as much a surprise for me as it is for you guys. I'm sorry, I would have loved to give you some more positive news, but I have none.
I'm sure there's no need to worry though, this isn't the first time Valensia has vanished, and the last time he returned full of inspiration, with a great album. But he has always preferred not to publish anything if there is no real news...

I doubt if disavowing your fanbase by refusing to keep them updated is a promotionally smart thing to do... Pim and I read on the Robby Valentine-page on the Dutch site Hyves that Valensia appeared at a concert of Valentine.

I got some more info on Valensia appearing at the concert of Robby Valentine. A girl who went there had this to say:
- He just went to see the concert with his wife
- He looked tremendously healthy

! I was at that concert! :O And I didn't see him  ... I only heard he was there and then my girlfriend asked Marlies (the girl Valentine sings with sometimes) if that was true and she said "yes! he's here! you want me to get him?" and we were like: "Yeah!!" so.. she went to get him, but he had already left.. my girlfriend saw his hair though xD

Exactly... Especially if you already have a small fanbase like Valensia, I think it's definitely not the way to go to not respond to mail, discontinue your website etc. I know he has disappeared in the past - but this time it's been reaaaally long since we last heard anything... Almost 3,5 years have passed without any new music.
I wonder what happened to the new album which was supposed to be recorded last year... |
